How to get SSS Number online is just seven steps to make. All you need to have is a personal email address before you start applying online.
There are two ways to apply a SSS number.

- Birth Certificate – Birth Certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
- If you don’t have a birth Certificate you can submit the following:
- Passport
- Driver’s License
- PRC Card

2. SSS Online Application.
Before applying on the online be sure you have an active email address:

- Visit the SSS Website: www.sss.gov.ph.
- Click the icon: NO SS NUMBER YET? APPLY ONLINE!
- Filled up all fields of the online form correctly.
- Review all the filled up fields.
- and click SUBMIT ( Note: A link shall be sent to the your registered email. )
- Click on the link received to continue with the SSS Number Application.
- Supply correctly all required information from Basic Information up to Beneficiaries Information
- Review and correct the filled out registration form.

- Click the “Generate SS Number” button.
- Then the system display the generated SS Number and an option to print the ePersonal Record Form and SS Number Slip. Print the ePersonal Record Form and the SS Number Slip.
- The registrant will also receive an email confirmation indicating the generated SS Number, a copy of the SS Number Slip, and further instructions on completing the application.
- Print the SS Number Application Confirmation email body sent to you by the SS Number Issuance System.
- Submit your printed records to your nearest SSS Branch together with the required documentary requirements.
- Marriage contract/certificate – If married,
- Copies of Birth Certificate of Children – If with child(ren)
Reminders:
Membership status with SSS shall remain “Temporary” until required supporting documents have been submitted to the nearest SSS Branch. Once the supporting documents is already submitted, the status membership will be change from Temporary to Permanent.
Importance of the SSS Number
- Job Requirement. – SSS number is one of the requirements in Job hiring. You will not be hired if you don’t have an SSS number.
- SSS Contribution Payment – once hired your employer will use your SSS number in reporting you as a new employee. Aside from reporting you as an employee, the employer also mandated to pay monthly contribution for you and your contribution will be credited in you SSS number.
- Availment of SSS Benefits- Benefits computation is based on the contribution credited to the SSS number.
