Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar PEOS is an online seminar given to those interested to work abroad.
If you have decided to work abroad then you need to take this seminar first, pass the assessment and obtain the Certification of completion. PEOS Certification of Completion is one of the requirements in the hiring process for Job abroad.
This seminar will give you necessary information regarding hiring process, the expenses to be incurred , safeguard against illegal recruitment and living Abroad.
The seminar has two types of Module. First Module is for the Professional and Skilled applicants and the second Module is for the Household worker Applicant. Each Type of Module composed of 8 learning modules that will help you prepare on the reality of working/living abroad.
The 8 learning modules are the following:
- Pricest – Overview of what is working overseas. It discussed general information about working overseas such as, income and expenses, community, environment and challenges.
- Job Search – Information of the importance of having the Overseas Employment Certificates ( OEC). Also contains information on the various application and documents requirements for overseas jobs and some information and tips of the Recruitment Agencies.
- Forewarned, Forarmed – Contains information on the various forms/style of illegal recruitment, how to detect if it’s illegal and how to avoid it.
- The Price is Right – Contains the normal fees that the overseas workers should pay such as placement fee, pre-departure fee and other government mandated fees.
- Seal the Deal – Discuss the importance of the overseas employment contract. Set the minimum provision that should be found in the overseas employment of contract before it’s good to go signing the said contract.
- Country Information – General Information on the countries that you are interested in. Information such as, the lifestyle, climate, practices and culture including the etiquette.
- Healthy & Safe – Contain information regarding the risk that the overseas Filipino workers may encounter. Information’s on security and health matters and what to do if it happens.
- DMW Cares – Overview of what is Department of Migrant workers is , its Mandate and functions, and how they support the migrant workers in time of trouble. It also shares the directory of the Department of Migrant workers regional Office and extension units.
The online seminar is for free of charge.There are 8 modules, each with an assessment test that that needs to passed before you can proceed taking the next modules. After completing all modules, and have passed the last assessment then you will be issued a PEOS Certificate which can be used as a complementary certificate when finding a job.
How to Take the Seminar?
Before you register for the seminar be sure you already have the DMW E Registration Number.
The following are the steps how to take the Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar (PEOS).
- Go to https://peos.dmw.gov.ph/
- . Sign up by filling out the form and log in.
- Read through the 8 modules.
- Revise and take the Modular Assessment Test before moving on to the next module so that you understand the material very well.
- Test results will be sent via email after all modules are completed
A Certificate of Completion will also be attached in the email. Users can print and submit it to POEA directly.
