Here are some tips to have a successful Job interview.
PREPARATION – you need to prepare the following days before the interview.
- Know about the company, the interviewer’s name, . –
- You should know about the company. You should understand about their business and how their organization operates their working environment, key People, and company’s mission and vision. Once you know it, this now reflect that you are interested in this company.
- One of the Key People you should know is the recruitment Manager, the interviewer and the receptionist. Try to find a way you know this people.
- Reread the job description
- Study carefully the job description and take note of the specific skills the employer is looking for. List your skills from your past to current work that has connection and may align with this requirement.
- Put this in writing and memorize it.
- Draft some questions of your own with your composed answers.
- Read the question yourself and practice answering to the questions.
- Prepare copies of your resume, a pen and a small note pad with you.
- Prepare also a copy of your transcript.
- Plan/ Prepare your attire a day before the interview.
- Job interview calls you to wear professional or business attire. Your attire must be free of stain and well ironed.
DURING INTERVIEW
- Dress appropriately and you should look professionally.
- Bring copies of your resume , copy of your transcript a pen and a small note pad with you.
- Carry your papers in an organized manner.
- Immediately after the interview, write down as much as you can remember, of how well you did
- Be Punctual at your interview.
- This means you should arrive 15-25 minutes early of your appointment time. Arriving early will give you time to have yourself relax and composed before the interview start.

- Don’t hesitate to ask clarification if the question is not so clear to you.

- End the interview with an appreciation and thank the interviewer for taking the time.

- Ask the interviewer their plan to make the decision and ask the time you may contact them to learn of the decision.
