Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic

Job Description

  • Perform diagnostic tests to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in heavy-duty diesel engines and equipment.
  • Conduct repairs and component replacements to address identified problems
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance procedures to prevent breakdowns and ensure reliability.
  • Complete overhauls of engine components to restore functionality and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Interpret electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic system schematics for troubleshooting and repair.
  • Maintain and repair air-conditioning systems installed in heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
  • Service and repair heavy-duty equipment from manufacturers such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, and Hitachi.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Possess previous experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably in a heavy-duty or industrial setting.
  • EOM (Equipment Original Manufacturer) training and certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for engine diagnostics.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills.

Qualifications needed

  • Previous experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably in a heavy-duty or industrial setting.
  • EOM (Equipment Original Manufacturer) training and certification is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in interpreting electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic system schematics.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience using diagnostic tools and equipment for engine diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with servicing heavy-duty equipment from manufacturers such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, and Hitachi.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills.
